Featured vendor: EMC shares its view on Xproc

Most large vendors have development departments that are increasingly embracing the outside world in its communications on technologies. They contribute to the development of open standards and as such are actively sharing their thoughts and visions. EMC does so too. When they acquired Dutch native XML Database builder X-Hive their footprint in the XML world increased dramatically.

EMC has a developer network that provides insights into how their developers are looking at open standards. Also, they share their ideas and specific development tools for their own solutions. Last year, the XMLHolland Code Challenge was all about XProc. With Irsan Widarto, director of Engineering and XML Solutions at EMC in the jury, it is not surprising to see that EMC is giving considerable thought to this standard.

On the EMC developer network, there is a section devoted to XProc. It serves as a basic starting point as well as a source for more in-depth knowledge. Please feel free to explore the XML developer network to also find interesting stuff on other XML related standards.
