This month Liferay officially released the new version of its open source portal platform, version 6.1 Community Edition. Besides many fixes and feature enhancements, Liferay has added support for mounting multiple repositories via CMIS. CMIS is one of those standards that has been developed in close cooperation by some of the major vendors in the (Enterprise) Content Management space, and from its origin has been adopted very rapidly.
